St Mary’s rises to the challenge
Inspired by Fr Tony’s assemblies, the pupils and staff of St Mary’s took part in a non-uniform day to raise money for the Badjao children in the Philippines. Even in these difficult times, the fantastic school community has helped to raise an amazing £506.16!
Mrs Wright, Head Teacher, said:
‘I am incredibly proud of all our children and staff for their generosity and support. It is so important for our children to have a worldwide awareness of people in need, as well as the joy of giving. Thank you to everyone who helped to make a difference, especially our Mini Vinnie pupils who have worked so hard to promote this charity.’
Fr Tony Grace said:‘
Many thanks to Mrs Wright for her great support and encouragement for Mission Together. Many thanks to all the children, staff and parents for their generosity. It is greatly appreciated.’

Resources for the new school year
Over the summer we've been responding to teacher feedback and creating lots of new resources for schools. Included in this is our Pope Francis Five Fact Assembly which explores the life of young Jorge Bergoglio and his journey to Rome.
To bolster our range of popular Marian resources, we've also created a new Our Lady of the Rosary Assembly, Mary, our model for mission Liturgical Prayer, and short Marian Scripture comprehension tasks.
In addition to these is our annual Together in... assembly, which focuses on a Missio supported children's project. This year, Together in the Philippines, introduces children from the Badjao tribe and the help they receive at the Nano Nagle education centre.
Now we're making a start on resources for Advent!

Join Missio to journey through Advent!
Missio is excited to share opportunities to connect and reflect throughout the Season of Advent. Our online reflections and a mission-focused online Advent Calendar are designed to bring communities across England and Wales together in prayer.
Starting on 26 November 2021 and taking place every Friday at 10:30am, the online reflections will be shared from the Missio chapel in Eccleston Square. Each week reflections will be given by missionaries, including sisters, priests and lay people who will focus on how Advent is celebrated around the world, whilst reflecting on the upcoming Sunday readings.
To complement these reflections, Missio has recreated our popular online Advent Calendar. With scripture, images, films, music, and prayers behind the digital doors, we hope it will guide supporters through this special season. Small daily actions are also included to highlight how supporters can pray for and help sustain the work of missionaries and the communities they serve around the world. The Advent Calendar will be live from 1 December 2021 at https://missio.org.uk/advent-calendar/
